Propylene (C₃H₆) is the world's second-largest petrochemical monomer, produced over 130 million tonnes annually. With its asymmetric methyl group, it polymerizes into stereoregular polymers (isotactic, syndiotactic, atactic PP) — the dexterous middle-flow daughter of the petrochemical family, branching into PP, acrylonitrile, propylene oxide, isopropanol, and cumene-route phenol.
