Sources and license information for technologies and resources used on this site
Last Updated: May 9, 2026
SOUL / ALLOY is built on top of many open source projects and freely available resources. This page provides license information for this site and attribution for all technologies and resources used.
SOUL/ALLOY original content is rights reserved unless separately permitted in writing.
All rights reserved / Individual permission and paid agreements
Characters, images, audio, copy, diagnosis results, downloadable materials, commercial use, API integration, redistribution, and merchandising may not be used without permission. Educational use by schools may be handled through individual permission or an educational license. Corporate use requires a paid agreement. Third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses.
The source code for this project is developed using the following AI tools side-by-side:
The bulk of this project's code is developed using Claude Code. It complies with Anthropic's terms of service, and the copyright of generated code belongs to this project.
OpenAI's Codex / ChatGPT is also used for implementation assistance, refactoring, script generation, and image-generation tooling. Use complies with OpenAI's terms; copyright of generated code belongs to this project.
The source code is managed in a private GitHub repository. Source code access may be granted to educational licensees. Please contact us for details.
Images used on this site are created using the following methods:
Some character illustrations, icons, and background images are generated or edited using Google Gemini / Imagen and related tools. They are managed as SOUL/ALLOY production assets where permitted by applicable law and Google terms.
Some regenerated or edited production assets are created with OpenAI image-generation tooling through Codex workflows. Source prompts, reference images, and selected outputs are tracked in the project image provenance records.
Real-world photos of elements and compounds are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and similar repositories under licenses such as CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0, or Public Domain. Per-image attribution (photographer, source URL, license, modification status) is recorded one-by-one on the dedicated Image Credits page.
SOUL/ALLOY manages generated, edited, and compiled character images, icons, backgrounds, and downloadable materials as production assets. Redistribution, merchandising, corporate use, derivative reuse, and training-data use are not allowed without permission; third-party and provider terms still apply.
The personality diagnostics in this service are based on the following open source psychology tests:
32 questions | Open Psychometrics Project
A personality type test based on Jungian psychology. OEJTS-derived portions remain subject to CC BY-SA 4.0, while SOUL/ALLOY original characters, images, audio, copy, diagnosis results, and downloadable materials are managed separately as rights-reserved content.
Open Psychometrics50 / 20 questions | International Personality Item Pool
A test measuring Big Five personality traits. Widely used internationally and extensively validated in academic research.

IPIP36 / 9 questions (quick version) | Open Source Psychometrics Project
A test measuring Enneagram personality types.
Open Psychometrics60 questions (6 areas × 10 items) | Holland's theory / O*NET (US Department of Labor)
Holland's career-choice theory measures vocational interest across six areas (R/I/A/S/E/C). SOUL/ALLOY uses the theoretical framework while implementing the items, scoring, and persona mapping originally.
O*NET / Holland CodeCC BY-SA 4.0 applies only to OEJTS question text and its translations or derivatives. SOUL/ALLOY characters, images, audio, copy, diagnosis result cards, and downloadable materials are wholly rights-reserved as SOUL/ALLOY original works.
CC BY-SA 4.0 permits commercial use. This service uses the items with required author credit (Open Psychometrics Project) and ShareAlike disclosure.
ShareAlike applies only to the parts covered by CC BY-SA 4.0 (e.g., modified question text). SOUL/ALLOY original content (characters, images, the narrative portion of result pages) is NOT subject to SA and is managed under separate proprietary or per-grant licenses.
All these tests are released under licenses that permit commercial use, and their use in this service complies with all license requirements.
This site is built using the following open source software:
All dependency libraries are released under open source licenses that permit commercial use (MIT, Apache 2.0, ISC, etc.).

Character voices are generated using ElevenLabs voice synthesis technology.
Voice content is generated under a paid commercial plan (Creator or higher) with ElevenLabs. Generated voices are licensed for commercial use and comply with their terms of service. Currently, only select characters have voice content (more coming soon).
